Colore rosso rubino intenso, al naso è caratterizzato di aromi di frutta a bacca rossa e a bacca scura, sottobosco e spezie dolci, al palato è ricco e complesso, con tannini ben integrati ed un lungo finale.
Carni rosse, cacciagione, formaggi stagionati.
A polished and fresh red with dried berry and citrus undertone. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a crisp finish. Excellent Rosso di Montalcino. Drink now.
The 2013 Rosso di Montalcino Leopoldo Franceschi is a bit richer and deeper than the straight Rosso, but the brightness of the vintage comes through just the same. Dark cherry, plum, spice, menthol and licorice add nuance to the textured, inviting finish. The Leopoldo Franceschi is a barrel selection made in the cellar and usually shows more oak influence than the straight Rosso. The 2013 is a big step up from the 2012 and absolutely delicious in its own right. Drinking window 2015-2025.
One of the best Rosso di Montalcinos of the vintage with orange peel, berry and light plum character. Medium body. Fruity and friendly finish. Drink now.
